Signing Experience

Your host uses SignBreezy to send you a rental agreement for your stay. Signing takes a few minutes, works on any phone or computer, and does not require an account or a password.

This page walks through each screen so you know what to expect.

Before you start

You will need:

  • Your mobile phone. We text you a one-time code to confirm it is really you.
  • Your full legal name as it appears on your driver's license.
  • The names of other adults staying with you. Some hosts also ask for their phone number or email so each adult can sign from their own device.
  • A government-issued photo ID, only if your host requires identification for the reservation. The checklist tells you up front if this applies.

You do not need to create an account, and you will never be asked to set a password.

Your host sends you a private link by text, email, or a message on Airbnb or Vrbo. Tap it to open your reservation's signing page. The first screen shows the property and your dates so you can confirm you are in the right place:

Desert Oasis
Oct 16–20, 2026

Let's get your rental agreement ready.

Enter your mobile number and tap Text me a code. The country picker next to the number defaults to the United States. Tap it to choose another country.

Why we ask for your number

Your number is used to verify your signing session and to send you messages about this reservation. It is not used to create an account. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Step 2: Check your phone

We text a six-digit code to the number you entered. Type it into the six boxes, or paste the whole message. On most phones the code fills in automatically from the notification.

Check your phone
We sent a 6-digit code to ••• ••• 1277.

The code is checked as soon as the sixth digit is in. You can also tap Verify.

  • Didn't get it? Wait for the short countdown, then tap Send another code.
  • Typed the wrong number? Tap Use a different number to go back.
  • Wrong code? You will see "That code didn't work." Check the text message and try again. An old code shows "That code has expired." Send a new one to continue.

After too many wrong guesses, the screen asks you to wait a little while before trying again.

Once verified, you stay signed in for this reservation for seven days, so you can close the page and come back without another code.

Step 3: Your checklist

After your phone is verified you land on a short checklist headed Review & Sign. It shows the property, your dates, and a numbered card for each thing this reservation asks of you:

  1. Guest Information. Your details and guests.
  2. Review Agreement. Read and confirm.
  3. Sign Agreement. Add your signature.
  4. Verify ID or Verify your identity. Only if your host requires it.

Each card shows a green check when it is done. The card that is up next is highlighted. Tap Continue to go to it. You can tap any finished card to look at it again. Cards further down the list open only after the ones before them are done.

You return to this checklist between steps, so you always know how much is left.

Step 4: Guest Information

The Who's staying? screen collects the details that are written into your agreement.

Your information

  • Your full legal name, as it appears on your driver's license.
  • Your mobile phone, already verified. It cannot be changed here.
  • Your email or home address, only if the agreement uses them.

Other adult guests

Tap + Add another adult for each adult staying with you. Each one needs a full name. Their email and mobile number are optional unless your host requires them. Your host uses them to send each adult their own signing link. On phones that support it, a From contacts button lets you pick a person from your address book instead of typing. Tap Remove to take an adult off the list.

Once you reach the property's limit, the screen tells you how many adults it allows.

Children under 18

Children are never listed by name. If the property tracks occupancy, use the plus and minus buttons to say how many children are staying.

A few more questions

Some hosts add questions of their own, such as arrival time or vehicle details. These appear in their own sections at the bottom. Anything marked (optional) can be skipped.

Tap Continue. The button reads Preparing your agreement… while SignBreezy fills your details into the document.

Only what your host needs

Every field on this screen is there because your host or the agreement requires it. If you are not asked for something, it is not needed for this reservation.

If your host's document is still being put together, you will see a Preparing your agreement screen instead. It checks by itself and opens the agreement the moment it is ready. You can close the page and come back later. Your details are saved.

Step 5: Review your agreement

The Review your rental agreement screen shows the full document on the page. Your name and today's date already appear where the agreement needs them.

  • If the agreement was written in SignBreezy, it reflows to fit your screen, so there is no need to pinch and zoom through a tiny PDF window. A dashed box marks where your signature will go.
  • If your host uploaded their own PDF, you see the pages as they are, with Sign here marks where your signature will be placed. Use the − and + buttons in the corner to zoom.

Need to fix something? Tap Edit your details at the top to go back to the guest information screen.

Read the whole agreement. At the bottom of the screen, check the box:

☐ I have read and agree to the rental agreement.

Then tap Continue to sign. The box is never checked for you.

Step 6: Sign

Signing gets its own screen.

Almost done.
Sign below to complete your rental agreement.

Draw your signature in the box with your finger or mouse. Tap Clear to start over. If your host allows typed signatures, Draw and Type tabs appear above the box, and Type shows your name in a script style.

You sign once. SignBreezy places that signature everywhere the agreement calls for it.

Below the box you will see the legal acknowledgement:

By selecting Complete signing, I agree that this electronic signature represents my signature on the rental agreement, with the same legal effect as a written signature.

Tap Complete signing when you are ready. SignBreezy records your signature along with the time, the exact version of the document you signed, and your verified session, so there is a clear record of what was agreed.

Step 7: Verify your ID (some reservations)

Some hosts require identification. If yours does, the checklist has a fourth card and it opens right after you sign. If yours does not, there is no fourth card.

When the host requires this step, it is required to finish. It will never be labeled optional.

Depending on the host's settings, you will see one of two screens:

Verify ID. Tap Take a photo or choose a file and photograph the front of your driver's license, passport, or other government ID. JPG, PNG, HEIC, and PDF files up to 12 MB are accepted. On a computer you can drag the file onto the box. The image is encrypted, shared only with your host, and never part of your signed copy.

Verify your identity. Tap Start verification to open a short check run by our verification partner. You photograph the front and back of your ID, take a quick selfie so it can be matched, and come straight back. It usually takes under a minute, and the page updates by itself while your ID is checked.

  • If the check needs a human look, the screen says Being reviewed. You are done. The wait is on the partner's side, not yours.
  • If it fails, you will see "We couldn't verify your ID." Tap Try again with a clearer photo or a different document. If it keeps failing, contact your host.

Other adults on the reservation verify from their own device using their own link, so nobody has to hand over their ID to someone else.

Step 8: You're all set

The final screen confirms everything is done.

✓
You're all set.
Your rental agreement for Desert Oasis has been signed.
Oct 16–20, 2026

Tap Download PDF to save your signed copy. Your host has a copy as well.

If other adults on the reservation still need to sign, the screen names them and lets you know the completed copy comes once they have all signed.

Other adults on your reservation

Each additional adult gets their own link, sent by your host by text or email. Their flow is shorter:

  1. Open the link. There is no phone code on this link.
  2. Read the document, then tap Start signing or a Sign here mark and draw a signature. Tap Apply signature.
  3. Check the acknowledgement box and tap Sign & submit.
  4. If the host requires ID from every adult, verify it the same way as above.

They see only what they are asked to sign. They do not see your pricing or booking details.

Coming back later

You do not have to finish in one sitting. Your progress is saved on our side after every step.

  • Within seven days you open the same link and land straight on your checklist.
  • After that you see a Welcome back screen showing the last digits of the number on file. Tap Send code, enter it, and you are back on your checklist. The number cannot be changed here. If you have lost access to it, contact your host.
  • Once signed, opening the link shows your checklist with everything checked and a View your signed agreement button. Your guest details are shown but can no longer be edited.

What your signed agreement covers

The copy you sign is final. If your host later changes their template, house rules, or tax settings, your signed agreement does not change. The PDF you download always shows exactly what you agreed to.

Privacy and security

  • Your link is private. It is unique to your reservation. Do not forward it to others.
  • Your phone confirms it is you. Nobody can sign your agreement with the link alone. Access requires the code we text to your number.
  • Sessions expire. After seven days you will be asked to verify your phone again.
  • Sensitive details stay hidden until you have verified your phone. The first screen shows only the property name and dates.
  • Your ID is never part of the agreement. It is encrypted and shared only with your host.

Common questions

I never received the code. Check that the number you entered is a mobile number that can receive texts, wait for the countdown, then tap Send another code. If you are traveling, confirm your phone has service or roaming enabled.

The screen says "We couldn't find this agreement." The link is incomplete or has changed. Open it again from your host's original message, or ask your host to resend it.

The screen says "We couldn't send a code right now." This appears when the agreement can no longer be signed, for example if it has expired. Contact your host and ask them to resend your signing link. They can do this in a few seconds.

The screen says "This contract is being worked on." Your host has paused this agreement to make a change. Your reservation is unaffected. Check back shortly, or wait for your host to send an updated link.

The screen says "Almost there." Your host has not finished preparing the agreement. Check back shortly.

I made a mistake in my details. Before you sign, tap Edit your details on the review screen or open the Guest Information card from your checklist. After signing, contact your host, who can update the reservation and send a corrected agreement if needed.

Another adult needs to sign but is not with me. Each adult signs from their own phone using their own link. Your host sends it by text or email from the contract page. Ask your host to send it, or to resend it if it was lost.

Can I sign on my computer instead? Yes. Open the same link on any device. The experience is designed for phones first, but works just as well on a laptop or desktop.
